Crash Course Guide To Life
Personal and Social Development Resources
Meta-Introduction
This content will be created in written form in various internet locations and then at some point a book and video series.
Introduction
The ‘Crash Course Guide To Life’ is a collection of content created with the intention of helping people understand and navigate personal and social issues in life. The guide intends to cover the foundational, location and time independent items that the vast majority of people will have to deal with in life and will have a hard time getting the information to.
It will not cover every possible situation. It will cover very few time and location dependent situations. That means it will not cover how to deal with any particular culturally related issues, economic or governmental specific related issues.
Dedication
To the children I have and hope to have, I write this for you. I loved you before you were and more after you became, and plan to for as long as I am.
To the friends that I have had, currently have, someday may have, and will never have, I write this for you.
To my parents, siblings, grandparents, extended family, and predecessors, I write this in honor of your struggles, failures, and successes throughout the journey of life you have taken, currently take, and will take until you eventually pass. May your memories be imbued upon many souls and live into the future for as long as possible.
To humanity itself, I write this to honor your struggles, failures, and successes throughout all of time that you have been, are, and will be. You’ve struggled with great sorrows imparted by the vast breadth of brutality of nature, devastating starvation, long and bloody wars, and painful mistakes coming from good willed people and deeply evil and troubled people.
Epigraph
“To gain your own voice, forget about having it heard. Become a saint of your own province and your own consciousness.” – Allen Ginsberg
“Be the Change You Wish To See in the World”
“The Arc of the Moral Universe is Long, But it Bends Toward Justice.”
Standing on the shoulders of giants
“You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete.” ― Buckminster Fuller
“Beware of advice—even this.” –
Forward
In the beginning, or at least my beginning, I was a young person. My understanding and perceptions of life and reality extremely limited and dim. In exploratory mode, I traversed time and space, in a limited capacity of course, I did not have a time machine. During these explorations I did not know much of anything and relied on my parents and other gaurdians that my parents put into place. They helped give me some orientation in life and reality as well as a foundation to operate from. At some point I needed to understand better my orientation in life. Where I was, who I was, why was I, and other such questions. Also needed to understand how to navigate life outside of what my parents could navigate for me. More complicated friendships, how to be self sufficient outside of my parents care, etc.
At this point in time I started asking questions. I asked my friends, my parents, and anyone I could ask. People didn’t seem to have the answers. They all seemed to have gotten around somewhat naturally, by luck, poorly, or not at all in various areas of life.
*more goes here*
A lot of people want to do well in life and be happy and content. Nobody is perfect and can move towards a better state of life. Over time I’ve gained a lot of resources for this kind of thing and people have been interested in these sorts of things. That is why this resource list is being developed. It will get more organized and better over time. For now this is just a dump of all the stuff in some kind of structure.
There are two main areas of life. The personal and the social. A person also has to operate within an economic system and under a governmental system and within a culture. People also have to operate within reality (or whatever they may think they exist within), and have to find some kind of orientation within it. Those orientations end up being theistic or atheistic (non-theistic) and some level of certainty such as gnostic (knowing) or agnostic (not knowing).

Thought… Maybe a wiki needs built and people can add to it… Not sure how to curate it though… Maybe a team of moderators that have been vetted can confirm submissions. People can submit things and it can be seen even if it hasn’t been verified yet. Verification will lock in the information. Maybe there can be vetted users to post or vetted users per category can post. Those people would be people that have professional information in that area for instance.
Something to consider: Can be the author, can have editors, can have contributors. The contributors can be referenced by footnotes and listed in the back of the book. Perhaps this will do.
Seems that a number of religions will have something to say about a number of the sections that will be in the crash course guide to life wiki. Should be interesting to see the entries that all line up or don’t within those sections from different sources.
The what suggestions should include the why you have that suggestion and then how to implement and then the possible outcomes.
